Stockton Town Centre Market
Following the £35 million regeneration of Stockton Town Centre, Stockton market was relocated to a centralised point within our award winning High Street, enabling visitors to sample the delights of market stalls whilst at the same time enjoying the heritage that the town has to offer. The market has a vast selection of stalls from fashion to fresh fruit and veg, soft furnishings to seasonal plants, pies and peas to greeting cards and gifts. After a busy day browsing the stalls and town centre, you can wind down and relax at one of several market café stands or many others situated around the town centre.
This traditional market is held every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. You can get one hour free parking in several town centre short stay car parks, or if you want to stay a little longer it’s £1 for three hours.
As well as hosting the largest market in the area, Stockton Market won the best 'large outdoor market' at the 2018 National Association of British Market Authorities awards. Also, Stockton-on-Tees is home to several other smaller but equally fantastic markets. These markets are held in both Billingham and Thornaby respectively. Further information regarding these markets as well as the days in which these markets take place can be found in the section below.
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council are part of the Real Deal charter which demonstrates a commitment to prevent counterfeits and other illicit goods being sold at our traditional markets.
Billingham Market
Billingham Market comes to town every Monday and Friday all year round and is located in the heart of Billingham’s newly regenerated town centre. Stalls run from the bandstand along to Asda and shoppers can come and choose from a wide variety of goods.
Stalls include cards and accessories, fruit and veg, discount food outlets, women’s clothing and watches, batteries and e-cigarettes. There are also catering outlets where shoppers can sit down, relax and enjoy a cup of tea. What’s more, there’s also free parking all around Billingham Town Centre.
Thornaby Market
Thornaby Market is located in the heart of Thornaby Town Centre and is open every Thursday all year round. The Market spans from Lidl to Yorkshire Bank and features a great variety of quality goods available at affordable prices. Stalls include bags and luggage, flowers and plants, watches and batteries, women's clothing, Avon beauty products, household and domestic products, eggs, fresh fish and fruit and veg. With two hours free parking, you can even take the weight off your feet and grab a quick cuppa and a bite to eat whilst you shop.
Applying for a stall at any of our markets is easy and our markets are a fantastic opportunity to test the water in running your own business without expensive overheads and long-term commitments. New traders can take advantage of our fantastic start-up offers, including free use of a 3m x 3m gazebo, free rent and free insurance for up to 4 weeks. This support is unrivalled in our area and is an opportunity that really shouldn't be missed!
