Derbyshire / Bolsover

Bolsover is a quaint market town steeped in history, offering visitors a unique blend of heritage and culture. Located in the heart of Derbyshire, Bolsover is designated as a conservation area in recognition of its architectural interest and boasts 21 listed buildings within the town centre, and the iconic Bolsover Castle.

The town's first market charter was granted by Henry III in 1225. Open-air Markets are still held in the town every Tuesday and Friday. We also run
quarterly Teenage Markets, monthly Artisan Markets, and a festive Christmas Market in December; this coincides with town's annual lantern parade which recently commemorated its 30th-anniversary. Our markets provide residents and visitors with a rich variety of entertainment, arts, crafts and artisanal food and drinks promising a unique experience with each visit.

Conveniently located at Junction 29A of the M1 motorway, Bolsover is easily accessible by car, with ample free parking available for visitors.

While exploring the town's markets, visitors are encouraged to embark on Bolsover's Town Trail.https://www.visitbolsover.co.uk/locations/town-trail/

Whether indulging in a leisurely stroll through its historic streets or savouring a cup of coffee at one of its charming independent cafes, Bolsover offers a warm welcome to all.

Bolsover has become one of the first towns in the UK to be audited for its accessibility. This means visitors can find out if they can access a shop or visitor attraction before they arrive.
