Manchester’s markets are full and varied with independent traders and great bargains.
They are full of independent traders selling clothes, accessories, food and even art – all at affordable prices. The Arndale indoor market is the place to head for if you are in search of food with everything from fresh fruit, vegetables, fish, meat and cheeses, and a lot more.

Bury’s award-winning market is a proverbial shoppers’ mecca and is home to its very own delicacy of black pudding.
As one of the largest and most popular markets in Greater Manchester, it attracts an estimated 250,000 shoppers a week, which goes some way to explaining why it has been awarded the title of Market of the Year on four occasions - in 2006, 2009, 2012 and 2015 – and is known as the ‘world famous’ Bury Market.
The centrepiece of Bury Market is the Fish and Meat Hall, which is lively and everything you would expect. The magnificent Market Hall is the home of the indoor market’s 60 stalls which offer a wide variety of goods and services including giftware, hardware, linens, haberdashery, clothing, and electrical goods.
The Open Market is a traditional market housed in a modern setting where you will find a wide variety of goods and services on offer across over 300 stalls, all covered by canopies making al-fresco shopping a pleasure year round.
Ashton’s historic market is another popular indoor and outdoor market in the North West region with great choice, high quality and value for money.
The Outdoor Market is open seven days a week with a flea market on Tuesdays, table top sale every Sunday except for the last Sunday in the month, and also a ‘Farmers and Producers’ market with all items fresh and grown locally.
The Indoor Market is open six days a week and has a range of quality goods including good old favourite sweets of yesteryear, bedding, gifts, clothing, food, even baby wear and dry cleaners.
Morecambe’s Festival Market is located by the Promenade, and with its unbeatable views towards the Lakeland hills is one of the highlights the town has to offer for shoppers looking for a unique experience.
It has over a hundred stalls selling an enormous selection of products, some that you would expect to find in a market, and others unique to them. Morecambe’s Festival Market is everything you would come to expect from a traditional market, plus also has two welcoming cafes serving homemade meals and cakes and onsite public toilets.
Fleetwood Market is up there as one of the oldest markets in Lancashire and North West England and is still a true shopper’s paradise.
It is a traditional market in every sense, open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday all year round – and on all Bank Holidays and ‘Tram Sunday’, and has over 150 indoor and outdoor stalls with a variety of food, clothing and household goods, all at great prices.
Free coach parking is available at the market for group visits as well as plenty of on road parking for cars.
